Refer a friend LATER
What is it?
A referral program, with a delayed implementation.
Imagine this: a friend recommends a great new product, you hop online to buy your own and right after you checkout you are asked to refer a friend so you both can get $25 on your next purchase.
You have not even received your product yet, so how can you share about it’s greatness with your own friends & family?
There is a two step solution that works perfectly to get you the referrals you’re looking for. Are you ready?
Take Action:
Ship a little note, like this with each product you send
Friends don’t let friends drink great whiskey alone. Share this URL with your friends & you’ll both get $25 off your next order at Molo9’s™ Barrel.
Example #2
Friends don’t let friends eat chemical packed snacks. Share this URL with your friends & you’ll both get $25 off your next Molo9™ Snack Pack.
Example #3
Friends don’t let friends buy sh*tty bling. Share this URL with your friends & you’ll both get $25 off your next course at Molo9™ boutique.
You get the gist, so you send this note, then what?
We are brilliant entrepreneurs here, we do not just stuff the note in the package & move on. That apathy is for wantrepreneurs, you are here because you are intelligent & driven to see great marketing plans to the end, which is why you get a Step 2.
What is step 2? I’m so glad you asked. So in your email marketing dashboard (if you don’t have one, MailChimp is freemium) you should have an option to automatically send an email 72 hours after the expected arrival of packages. This email should use the same font, layout and design as the earlier note and say something like:
Friends don’t let friends drink great whiskey alone. Share this URL with your friends & you’ll both get $25 off your next order at Molo9’s™ Barrel.
Yes, it’s the same exact note.
Why? Someone will read the note in the package, mull it over and loose the paper before they get back to their computer. When you send the email 72 hours later they’ll be reminded of the note which at this point will shift the task from the “is this a good idea?” column in the brain to the “to-do list” column. Which means that they will be exponentially more likely to actually share their referral link.
